The Friends of the Domes mission is to promote and support the Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory (The Domes) and surrounding park by creating and enhancing the visitor experience of this globally significant urban destination. By sharing our appreciation and understanding of habitats that sustain our world, we foster an environment where everyone can experience unique worldwide plant collections in a natural setting.

Featured Placement

A volunteer will be asked to devote at least 3 hours each week to assisting in creating various types of artworks. Tasks can range from: researching topics and developing theme concepts, various graphic design work, a variety of sculpture building techniques, painting, installing, maintaining props, and organizing materials, etc.

Please digitally submit 5 to 10 photos of your work that you feel best reflects your skill sets. Links to your digital resume, portfolio, and/or website are welcome.

● The Exhibit Designer and the student will initially meet for one hour to orient the student to the environment & expectations, as well as determine more specifics regarding current art projects.
● Each week, the student will check in to arrange tasks for that week as well as updating the progress of their project. Note: If you plan to complete a project digitally, you will need to bring a computer/tablet with you to the Domes.

Scheduling:
Weekly 3-hour volunteer shift onsite on the same weekday (timing is flexible between 9:00 am – 3:00 pm)
